So upgrading a low base armor unit provided a significant upgrade to that unit's armor value. In Medieval 2, for example, an armor upgrade provided a fixed amount increase to all soldiers that received them. That takes a large province to pull off.ģ.ğocus On Your Strengths – Unlike previous Total War games, upgrades now provide a percent increase to the base score of a soldier. And of course, many of these come with hefty public order penalties at the highest levels, so you will need to counterbalance this with buildings that improve public order. And further, to have the best military centers you really need to commit to dedicating a lot of build slots, as there are plenty of military buildings that are worth constructing. One of the clear byproducts of Rome 2's settlement development is that building military buildings means not building something else that may bring in more income or other benefits.
